Toast Martinborough is a Zero Waste event

Since 2022, we’ve collaborated with Nonstop Solutions to achieve outstanding sustainability results. In 2022, 93.6% of the resources on event day were minimised or diverted from landfills, increasing to an impressive 96.35% in 2023. Our joint commitment prioritises environmental stewardship, promoting a greener and more responsible approach to waste management at festivals.

This year, all food packaging was supplied by BioPak. Their certified compostable packaging enabled us to collect and convert all food and packaging waste into nutrient-rich compost. To ensure the effective composting of this waste, BioPak and Compost Connect graciously sponsored its collection.

Why is this important?

We are using far too many resources on this planet far too fast - and where there are alternate solutions - single use items are unnecessary. We need to be moving away from single use to protect our planet and its' future - and look at ways we can keep resources in circulation instead. Waste buried in landfill breaks down at a very slow rate and remains a problem for many years - whereas alternatives can be composted - or even better, reused.

Food packaging is one of the biggest contributors to event waste. Our aim is to reduce the amount of waste we send to landfill and minimise the impact we have on the environment.

We need your help!

We kindly ask for your participation on event day. Keep an eye out for the various recycling, compost, and landfill bins available. Nonstop Solutions will be present to assist you, ensuring a seamless experience. By utilising the reusable items we provide and disposing of your compostable and recyclable waste in the designated bins, you'll contribute significantly to driving this positive change.

We appreciate your support in our sustainability efforts.
