There are numerous ways to get to and from the event.

Buses, taxis, trains, cars, even helicopters.

Buses

Book your seat on the official Toast bus with Tranzit and get to the festival safely and in style.  Tranzit are our preferred transport partner, they’re in the know, and have exclusive parking in the square – making your journey to Toast an easy and enjoyable one. Buses leave and return from Wellington, Wairarapa and the Manawatu regions.

With Tranzit you can:

If you have a return bus ticket from any of the destinations below, you will need to confirm your departure time and pick up point with Tranzit Coachlines in advance of Toast!  There are no toilets on any Tranzit coaches.  Consumption of hot food not permitted. No alcohol or smoking permitted on any bus.

Masterton – Tranzit Depot, Queen Street, 8.45am
Carterton – Opposite New World, 9.00am
Greytown – Corner of West and Hastwell Streets, 9.15am
Featherston – Mobil Service Station, 9.15am
Lake Ferry – Lake Ferry Hotel, 9.15am

Departures back to the various Wairarapa towns from the Martinborough Square will be available from 5.30pm at the earliest and 6.30pm being the final departure time.

Wellington: $52 return

Kilbirnie – ASB Sports Centre, 72 Kemp Street, 8.15am
Wellington i-Site – Wakefield Street, 8.15am & 9.15am
Wellington – Brandon Street, 8.15am & 9.15am
Petone Railway Station (Eastern Side), 8.30am & 9.30am

Departures back to the Wellington region will be from the Tranzit Coach parking precinct, in the Martinborough Square at 5.30pm and 6.00pm (please report 15 mins prior to departure).

Palmerston North: $52 return

Palmerston North – i-Site on the Square, 8.30am
Woodville – i-Site, Bus Stop Grey Street, 9.00am
Pahiatua – Tranzit Depot, 9.10am
Eketahuna – Opposite the Community Store, 9.30am

Departures back to Palmerston North will be from the Tranzit Coach parking precinct, in the Martinborough Square at 5.30pm  (please report 15 mins prior to departure).

Seats will be limited and bookings close 5pm Tuesday 15th November 2016.

Chartering a bus to get you to Toast?

Tranzit Coachlines offer private charters. Please note: No conveyance licences will be issued for any charter buses or shuttles travelling to Toast Martinborough.

Trains

There’s a return Toast charter train from Wellington to Toast, leaving Wellington station at 8.30am, stopping at Petone, Waterloo and Upper Hutt en route.  Departs Featherston at 6.50pm.  Price is $52 per person return, including the shuttle bus from Featherston station to Toast. The public train will leave Wellington Railway Station at 9.55am and arrive at Featherston Station at 10.52am.  Tranzit buses will transport you to The Martinborough Town Square (approx 15 mins drive) for Toast Martinborough.  The return train leaves Featherston Station at 5.26pm and arrives in Wellington at 6.25pm.  See metlink for times from other stations. Tickets for the public train can only be purchased on the day.

Cars

  • Public parking is available at the Rugby Club grounds, Regent Street – but there is no car parking at festival sites or near The Square.
  • Designated drivers do not receive free or discounted entry to festival sites. However, free water is provided at all festival sites.
  • Please note that Toast Martinborough is a responsible host and recommends every car has a designated driver.
